ABOUt

I am an Instructor of Kinesiology at Kansas State University with a professional background spanning higher education, exercise science, strength and conditioning, human performance, and fitness education. I hold a Master of Education in Exercise Science and have maintained the NSCA Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) credential since 2011.

My work is centered on helping students connect scientific principles with meaningful, real-world application. I teach across areas including exercise physiology, strength and conditioning, exercise program design, and health and fitness, with a particular interest in creating applied learning experiences that prepare students for professional practice.

Beyond the classroom, I am actively involved in curriculum and program development, accreditation, laboratory innovation, and professional education. At K-State, my recent work has included leading efforts associated with CAAHEP accreditation, initiating CASCE accreditation, developing a Strength and Conditioning Minor and new coursework, and helping modernize the Exercise Physiology Laboratory and its curriculum. I also work as a continuing education presenter for health and fitness professionals and have contributed exercise science expertise to national media outlets including National Geographic and TIME.

My overarching professional focus is the translation of exercise science into effective teaching, coaching, and practice—using evidence-based principles to improve movement, performance, health, and the preparation of future professionals.
