Jeremy Marshall

Dr. Marshall has an extensive and wide-ranging teaching portfolio. Since 2011, he has taught >125 course sections, reaching > 3,000 students and generating more than 7,500 student credit hours. His teaching extends across the academic year, including fall, spring, and summer offerings, and combines large-enrollment online courses with in-person lectures, laboratories, research experiences, and advanced seminars. He has taught 14 distinct courses and designed 10 of them from the ground up. His courses span introductory through graduate education and include General Entomology, Art and Insects, Entomology Foundations, the Undergraduate Research Experience, Integrative Behavioral Ecology, Insect Evolution, Insect Genetics, Molecular Entomology Laboratory, Ecological Genomics, and the interdisciplinary honors seminar “Bees, Plato, and Who Knows What.” He also created online Introduction to Entomology microcredentials for general, Kansas FFA, and Texas FFA audiences; these programs served an additional >550 learners in both 2025 & 2026. Across this breadth of instruction, Marshall uses active and applied learning, research experiences, accessible course design, educational technology, and more than 300 original educational videos to make entomology engaging and relevant for first-year students, non-science majors, entomology majors, graduate students, and learners beyond the university.
