ABOUt
Heather McCornack is a performing arts educator, music director, collaborative pianist, and vocal instuctor and coach with extensive experience in higher education, high school voice teaching, and youth arts programming. Her work integrates evidence-based vocal pedagogy with acting, movement, and musical storytelling, creating rigorous and supportive environments in which performers can develop confidence, artistic independence, and sustainable performance practices. At Kansas State University, she teaches courses in musical theatre, country music history, and yoga while also serving as a music director and collaborative pianist. Her additional leadership includes work with the Summer Choral Institute, K-State Visual and Performing Arts Academy, the Flint Hills Youth Choirs, and a long-established private voice and piano studio. Across her teaching and creative work, she is committed to inclusive, trauma-informed practices, cross-disciplinary collaboration, ensemble development, and helping students connect strong technique with authentic storytelling.
