SERVICE & ENGAGEMENT
Heather McCornack’s engagement work connects Kansas State University with young artists, educators, families, and community organizations throughout Kansas and beyond. She serves as collaborative pianist for the K-State Collegiate Chorale, co-director and collaborative pianist for the Summer Choral Institute and director of the musical theatre track for the K-State Visual and Performing Arts Academy. Through these programs, she develops interdisciplinary curricula, mentors emerging performers, supports student recruitment, and creates accessible pathways to collegiate arts experiences. Her sustained collaborations with Flint Hills Youth Choirs, Manhattan Arts Center, regional schools, and her private voice and piano studio further strengthen connections between the university and the surrounding community. Across these roles, she advances arts education through inclusive programming, collaborative leadership, and meaningful performance opportunities for students of varied ages and experience levels.
