William "Toby" Holmes

Primarily, Dr. Holmes researches leadership communications through the lens of Motivating Language Theory. He has worked to expand the field into the educational arena and deepened the field with qualitative and mixed-methods research designs and broadened the field through the use of the ML Antecedents and the 3-D MLT Typology Matrix, leading to diagnostic, prescriptive, and professional development opportunities for educational leaders. Additionally, Dr. Holmes is focused on education in the mid-21st century and beyond, the use of AI in educational leadership, the rural superintendency, and tribal leadership and change.
