My Teaching Philosophy & Summary
I am committed to delivering high-quality accounting education that bridges the gap between academic research and professional practice. My teaching spans the undergraduate, Master of Accountancy (MAcc), and MBA levels, consistently maintaining a high standard of excellence as reflected by my average course evaluation score of 4.9/5 for overall effectiveness.
Core Teaching Areas
- Financial Accounting: I teach at all levels, from Introduction to Financial Accounting to Intermediate Accounting II, ensuring students build a rigorous foundation in reporting standards.
- Advanced Analysis & Valuation: I lead the Financial Statement Analysis and Business Valuation course for the MAcc program, focusing on the practical application of accounting data in corporate decision-making.
- Research & Communication: I instruct students in Accounting Research and Communication, helping them develop the critical thinking and technical writing skills necessary for professional success.
- Graduate Leadership: I serve as a mentor and instructor for the PMBA and MBA Business Capstone courses, guiding students as they integrate their multi-disciplinary knowledge into final strategic projects. I actively lead study abroad programs for MAcc, PMBA, and MBA students, including recent and upcoming trips to Ireland, Spain, Portugal, Mexico, and Japan to provide students with a global perspective on business and accounting.
