My Core Research Interests
- Corporate Governance: A significant portion of my recent work focuses on the role of Lead Independent Directors, examining their impact on audit fees, accruals quality, real earnings management, and the selection of industry specialist auditors.
- Auditing & Risk Assessment: I explore the factors influencing audit fees and auditor behavior, specifically looking at how earnings volatility, earnings autocorrelation, and executive incentives (such as tournament incentives) affect auditor risk assessments and report lag.
- Market Efficiency & Investor Behavior: My research examines how the market responds to information, including investor overreaction to earnings surprises, post-earnings-announcement reversals, and debt market responses to data breaches.
- Specialized Modeling: My recent funded research involves developing life cycle of equipment models, specifically for the National Bio and Agro-Defense Facility (NBAF) in collaboration with the USDA.
