Teresa Douthit

Dr. Teresa Douthit has been a faculty member in the Department of Animal Sciences and Industry at Kansas State University since 2007. For most of her career, she has served in a 70% teaching and 30% research appointment, with teaching responsibilities focused on equine and animal nutrition courses. Her research program has centered on equine nutrition. She stepped into the role of Interim Department Head in 2025. Dr. Douthit has been active in university governance and served as Faculty Senate President during the 2024-2025 academic year. Her work reflects the land-grant mission, supporting the interconnected roles of teaching, research, and extension across the department and the university. She is committed to fostering an environment where faculty, staff, and students can succeed and where programs continue to serve the needs of Kansas and the broader agricultural community.
