TEACHING
Cultivating rigorous, independent scientific thinkers.
· Curriculum & Interdisciplinary Training: I integrate advanced viral pathogenesis, vaccinology, and diagnostics of USDA reportable diseases into veterinary coursework. Recognizing the shift toward AI-driven technologies, I led educational seminars training clinicians and researchers on field-deployable diagnostic solutions.
· Trainee Development & Career Mentorship: At KSU, I have successfully mentored graduate candidates through complete degree conferral , providing intensive hands-on execution, analytical support, and dissertation guidance. My focus is in maintaining a graduate program where every mentored student actively authors peer-reviewed manuscripts and competes successfully on the national stage within their first 12–36 months. Notably, MillerLab trainees have earned top honors at state and national research symposia, received oral presentation awards, and presented before federal leaders. Serve as an invited mentor for the FASEB LEAD Program and the American Association of University Women (AAUW), advancing equity-focused leadership for early-career scientists.
