Kory Beighle

Kory A. Beighle’s teaching spans architectural design, history, theory, technology, and representation, with experience ranging from foundational design education through advanced and thesis-level studios. At Kansas State University, he teaches across the architecture curriculum, including environmental design (first year studios), second- and third-year design studios, contemporary architectural history, and graduate seminars exploring disiplinary intersections and theories of translation. His previous teaching at Miami University and the University of Cincinnati includes introductory and upper-level design studios, architectural history, housing and urban design, tectonics and landscape, environmental technologies, and thesis studio.

Across these varied courses, Beighle approaches teaching as an opportunity to help students develop more deliberate ways of seeing, thinking, and making. His pedagogy emphasizes the relationship between architectural ideas and the tools through which those ideas are investigated and communicated, encouraging students to use drawing, modeling, analysis, precedent, and representation as active modes of inquiry rather than simply methods of presentation.
