TEACHING

Teaching and Student Mentorship

In addition to his Extension and research responsibilities, Dr. Blasi has maintained an active teaching and mentoring role. He teaches ASI 650 (Animal Identification and Information Management) every fall semester. This course is also available online during the fall and spring semesters. He also assists with ASI 662 "Feedlot Systems Management" during the fall semester.

He has advised graduate students, supervised research projects, and contributed to the development of future leaders in the beef industry. Many former students and trainees now serve in academia, Extension, allied industry, veterinary medicine, feedlot management, and production agriculture.

His mentoring philosophy has emphasized practical problem solving, scientific rigor, industry engagement, and service to stakeholders. Through these efforts, he has influenced multiple generations of animal science professionals.
