Tamara Bauer

Dr. Bauer's engagement work spans campus, community, and national contexts. At K-State, she has directed programs including 'Cats Connect, Wildcat Dialogues, What Matters to Me and Why, Snyder Leadership Legacy Fellows, Alternative Breaks, HandsOn K-State, and International Service Teams— initiatives that collectively connect thousands of students to leadership, service, and community each year. She served for five years as Director of the New Faculty Institute through K-State's Teaching and Learning Center and co-chaired K-State's Social Connection initiative through the Health Promoting University Committee. She also served on the advisory board for Cats' Cupboard, K-State's on-campus food pantry, including four years as chair, and contributed to the Truth, Racial Healing and Transformation workgroup. In the community, she is a longstanding member of the Kansas Leadership Center teaching team and a certified practitioner of the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator. She develops and facilitates leadership development sessions with organizations and businesses across sectors, with training expertise in adaptive leadership, facilitation skills, coaching, StrengthsQuest, collaboration, and community building. She has also secured external funding through the U.S. Department of State and IREX for international leadership exchange programs.
