Syneva Colle Hernandez

Dr. Syneva Colle Hernández is a performer and educator who participates in both classical and popular music disciplines. She is the Teaching Assistant Professor of Cello and String Education at Kansas State University, and Assistant Principal Cellist for the Topeka Symphony. She is a featured soloist on over twenty commercial albums. Committed to making music accessible to communities of all ages, Dr. Colle is the director of the String Academy at K-State, a teacher training program and community music school. She previously served as a Teaching Artist with the D.C. Youth Orchestra Program. She is also an Artistic Director for Chamber Music Kansas, which sponsors free concerts in Manhattan, KS and surrounding rural communities. Dr. Colle is active in the world of music publishing. Her online platform Via Strings offers contemporary string ensemble music for performers and educators. We Should Stick Together, a Via Strings album featuring Colle as arranger and performer, was released in 2025. She composed original scores for the documentaries Huan Dao (2016) and By Walking (2025), which won the 2025 PBS "Reel South" award for short films. Additionally, she has created string parts for dozens of commercial albums.
