TEACHING
Dr. Liu teaches Bioinformatics Applications (PLPTH813) coveriing the basic principle and the practice of regular bioinformatics applications. The course introduces useful computation skills, such as Unix commands, R, and Python, and applies these computational skills throughout the course. This course is focused on the application of bioinformatics in next-generation sequencing (NGS) data analysis, including variant discovery, genotyping, RNA-seq, genome assembly, comparative genomics and so on.
Dr. Liu also co-teaches the Genomic Technologies Workshop (PLPTH 885) in summer. His lecture and computational labs cover RNA-seq experimental design and analysis.
