My goal as an educator is to help producers develop the skills needed to manage genetic potential and mating systems within their herds — increasing profitability, improving stewardship of natural resources, and delivering products that meet consumers' end-product expectations. Although I no longer hold a formal extension appointment, I remain committed to supporting the county, area, and state extension educators who work directly with producers, helping provide the research-based information they request. I also work to develop funding sources for novel educational materials and decision-support tools that translate new research into deliverables usable by educators — whether in the classroom or with non-traditional audiences — and by producers themselves.  I also strive to integrate our research findings into practical tools for producers.
