Lihua Wang

I am an Assistant Professor of Virology and Immunology and a member of the University-Wide Biomanufacturing Constellation Hiring Initiative. With over two decades of experience in biology, virology, infectious diseases, and bioscience, I bring a strong track record in biomanufacturing and translational research. My expertise spans the production of commercially significant biologics, including recombinant protein-based subunit vaccines, therapeutic monoclonal antibodies (particularly host-derived), viral vector-based vaccines, and live attenuated virus vaccines across multiple biological systems and platforms. As Principal Investigator or co-Investigator on numerous university, USDA, and industry-funded projects, I have advanced the development of diagnostic assays, subunit vaccines, and live attenuated vaccines for high-impact human and animal diseases such as Rabies, Ebola, Dengue, African Swine Fever, Classical Swine Fever, and Porcine Reproductive and Respiratory Syndrome.
