SERVICE & ENGAGEMENT
Beyond her work on campus, Laci is deeply engaged in building connections between the university and the broader community around issues of aging. She maintains a close collaborative relationship with Meadowlark Hills Retirement Community, drawing on their shared commitment to person-centered care to inform both research, professional development, and student learning opportunities. She is also a key partner in the Logan LIFE project, an interdisciplinary research project that has led to a strong community presence beyond the research and collaboration with extension. Laci frequently shares her knowledge through community speaking engagements, including caregiver education events such as Accord Hospice's Caregiver Day. She has extended the university's reach to the Olathe campus, where she leads Age-Friendly Workplace professional development designed to help organizations work well for people of all ages. Additionally, Laci works directly with business partners to grow their competencies in aging-related issues, helping organizations across sectors become more responsive to the needs of an aging population.
