I have over 30 years of research experience in the field of virology, specifically on viral pathogenesis and the development of therapeutic measures for important human and animal viral infections. One of my current research focuses is the identification of antiviral drug targets, development of in vitro assay systems and animal models for human coronaviruses including SARS-CoV-2, MERS-CoV and SARS-CoV.
