Jay Disberger

Jay Disberger is a licensed architectural engineer in the states of Montana and Utah with experience designing power, fire alarm and lighting systems. He was actively involved in various health care, hospitality, historical, house of worship and high-rise buildings. Disberger holds M.S./B.S. degrees in architectural engineering from Kansas State University. Disberger maintains part-time involvement mentoring young designers and engineers at Energy-1 for various commercial and high-end residential projects. Disberger accepted an appointment to assistant professor in the fall of 2025. It is his mission is to enhance the ARE/CNS program by implementing reformed teaching principles and applying spaced repetition strategies. Disberger focuses on helping students genuinely understand architectural engineering design work by shifting underlying epistemological roadblocks away from answer seeking to better prepare students for success in industry.
