TEACHING
Dr. Besenyi teaches undergraduate and graduate courses in exercise behavioral science, program planning, and public health including KIN 345, KIN 597, KIN 610/710, KIN 612/712. Her teaching emphasizes the application of theory to practice, equipping students with the skills needed to design, implement, and evaluate health promotion interventions.
She integrates real-world examples, community-based projects, and active learning strategies to enhance student engagement and skill development. Her courses often align with professional competencies in public health and prepare students for careers in health promotion, research, and applied practice.
Dr. Besenyi is also an active mentor, having guided more than 55 undergraduate and graduate students in research, many of whom have contributed to conference presentations, publications, and funded projects.
