Gaea Hock

As a social scientist, my research interests relate to improving agricultural education in various settings. Through applied research efforts, I seek to identify strategies to better equip agriculture teachers in their ability to educate students about agricultural topics and issues. This will lead to more qualified students entering higher education to pursue careers in the agricultural sciences. I especially enjoy working to enhance water knowledge of multiple audiences. I also conduct research to develop and evaluate agricultural literacy efforts for various audiences, which will address the need for a more informed public in regard to complex issues in agriculture. All my research interests share the common theme of wanting to improve the scholarship of teaching and learning in diverse contexts.
