Elizabeth Davis

Dr. Elizabeth Davis is an academic leader, clinician-scientist, and educator with nearly three decades of service at Kansas State University's College of Veterinary Medicine. She currently serves as Interim Dean, following prior leadership roles including Executive Associate Dean, Associate Dean for Clinical Programs, Director of the Veterinary Health Center, and Professor and Department Head of Clinical Sciences. A board-certified large animal internist, Dr. Davis is recognized for her contributions to equine internal medicine, immunology, and clinical research, with a track record of peer reviewed publications, numerous invited lectures, and federal, corporate, and foundation-supported research funding. She has served as major professor or advisor for graduate students, residents, interns, and undergraduate scholars, representing a strong commitment to develop future scientists and clinicians. Dr. Davis has a record of institutional service, having chaired or contributed to university, college, and departmental committees, including strategic planning initiatives, search committees, curriculum review, redesign, and faculty affairs. Through her service responsibilities as department head, teaching hospital director and associate dean Dr. Davis has experience and direct involvement with American Veterinary Medical Association Council on Education accreditation reporting. Her leadership emphasizes collaborative problem solving, learner-centered education, and building strong clinical and research infrastructure. Her previous experiences include successful oversight of multimillion dollar capital projects, programmatic initiatives, and philanthropic partnerships. Current priorities in research, service, and instructional advancement include academic building renovation and upgrades and major equipment upgrades to include a linear accelerator modernization, standing CT imaging capacity and initiatives that include equipment upgrades for research and instructional needs that will support anatomy and physiology, diagnostic medicine and pathobiology, infectious disease research, basic research needs, and diagnostic laboratory services. Dr. Davis has a dedicated commitment to productive academic environments, with a comprehensive vision for strengthening veterinary education, advancing translational research, supporting clinical excellence, and expanding community and industry partnerships.
