Dustin Pendell

Dr. Dustin L. Pendell is a Professor of Agricultural Economics at Kansas State University and Director of the World Organisation for Animal Health (WOAH) Collaborating Centre for the Economics of Animal Health in the Americas, where his work focuses on the economics of animal health and livestock production. His research integrates economic modeling and applied analysis to evaluate the impacts of animal disease outbreaks, biosecurity strategies, and production decisions on producers, markets, and supply chains at regional, national, and global levels. Dr. Pendell has an extensive record of scholarship and funded research addressing critical challenges in animal health, food security, and agricultural sustainability. He is also deeply engaged in undergraduate and graduate education and mentoring, helping to train future agricultural economists and industry leaders. Through extension and outreach efforts, he collaborates with producers, industry stakeholders, and policymakers to translate research into practical tools and decision-making strategies, bridging research, teaching, and service to strengthen agricultural resilience.
