Kimball Smith

D. K. Smith's The Cartographic Imagination in Early Modern England provided a new way of reading the Renaissance's developing epistemologies of cartographic precision through the poetry, drama and prose of the 15th, 16th, and 17th centuries. In his new book he explores a comparable epistemological effect in examining the ways a concept of Strategic Failure can illuminate the development of the Renaissance sonnet sequence. A graduate of Yale and the University of Iowa, he is an associate professor of English at Kansas State University.
