David Yetter

University Distinguished Professor David Yetter received his Ph.D. in Mathematics from the University of Pennsylvania in 1984. Before coming to K-State in 1991, he had held positions at Clark University, the Institute for Advanced Study, McGill University, Macquarie University and Ohio State. He is the author of over 50 peer reviewed publications in area including category theory, low dimensional topology, functional analysis, euclidean geometry, and logic, and of the monographs Functorial Knot Theory: Categories of Tangles, Coherence, Categorical Deformations and Invariants and \i Compact Closed 2-Categories: Duality, Enrichment, and Strictification, the latter coauthored with with N. Gurski and J. Orendain. Since coming to K-State he has held visiting positions at the University of Pennsylvania and the University of Sheffield and a semester-long Research Professorship at the Mathematical Sciences Research Institute.
