David Renter

Dr. David Renter is the Associate Dean for Research and Graduate Programs, and a Professor of Veterinary Epidemiology in the College of Veterinary Medicine.  Prior to joining the K-State faculty in 2005, Dr. Renter was a veterinary epidemiologist with Alberta Agriculture where he focused on beef cattle health and food safety issues.  Dr. Renter earned his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Nebraska, and both his D.V.M. and Ph.D. degrees from Kansas State University.  

As the Associate Dean for Research and Graduate Programs, Dr. Renter's responsibilities include:

• Working with faculty and trainees to develop and sustain programs that are regionally relevant and internationally recognized.
• Supporting the independent and collaborative research efforts of College faculty and trainees
• Advancing the research capabilities and reputation of the College through interactions with industry, government and commodity groups
• Enhancing graduate and post-doctoral training opportunities at the College
