ABOUt
Amanda Lickteig, Ph.D., is an Associate Professor and Graduate Program Director in Curriculum and Instruction at Kansas State University, where she also serves as a teacher educator and researcher. Her teaching and scholarly work center on preparing educators to design responsive, reflective, and innovative learning experiences across educational contexts, with teaching responsibilities spanning undergraduate and graduate teacher education, general pedagogy, action research, educational technology, reflective practice, disciplinary literacy, and innovative approaches to teaching and learning. Prior to joining the faculty at Kansas State University, she served as Director of Secondary Education at Emporia State University, where she supported teacher preparation programs and graduate education. Her research interests include disciplinary literacy, pedagogical reasoning and reflective practice, teacher preparation and mentoring, innovative approaches to teaching and learning, international professional development, and the thoughtful integration of artificial intelligence into educator preparation and practice. She is also Co-Associate Editor of Action in Teacher Education and has contributed to peer-reviewed scholarship, open educational resources, and professional presentations focused on advancing effective, ethical, and responsive educator practice.
