Willie's research interests center on crowd dynamics and fan engagement, with a particular focus on what it takes to turn a quiet stadium into a home-field advantage. He has spent decades studying the relationship between student energy and on-field performance, and remains one of the foremost practitioners of sideline momentum theory. His fieldwork is conducted exclusively at Bill Snyder Family Stadium and across K-State athletic venues, where he continues to test and refine his methods in real time.
